Sarawak Successfully Hosts AGG Carnival 2026 & MAGGA National Series 1.

KUCHING, April 2026 — The Sarawak Aesthetic Group Gymnastics Association (SAGGA), in collaboration with the Malaysian Aesthetic Group Gymnastics Association (MAGGA), successfully hosted the Sarawak AGG Carnival 2026 & MAGGA National Series 1 on 25–26 April 2026 at Dewan Sa’ati, SUPP Headquarters.

The two-day national event brought together approximately 300 gymnasts and delegations from across Malaysia, marking a significant milestone in the continued growth of Aesthetic Group Gymnastics (AGG) in the country.

Event Highlights

The competition featured both development and international-level programmes, including:

  • National AGG Development (NAD) Program
  • IFAGG (International Rules) Program
  • AGG Training Workshop with Malaysia Junior Team & Junior Mixed Team

A key highlight was the training workshop, where participants trained alongside national athletes, providing valuable exposure and technical development. The session also introduced the Mixed Team Program, reflecting ongoing efforts to expand and strengthen the sport.


Distinguished Guests

The event was honoured by the presence of distinguished guests:

  • Mdm Kho Teck Wan, Political Secretary to the Yang Amat Berhormat Premier of Sarawak, representing YB Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew, Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry & Performing Arts Sarawak
  • Ms Norcigi, representing Dato’ Abdul Malek Noor, President of MAGGA
  • Ms Sarah Sarraj, Secretary General of MAGGA

Their presence reflects the continued support towards the development of Aesthetic Group Gymnastics at both state and national levels.


Growing Participation & Development

This edition recorded the largest participation to date in the NAD Individual Grading, alongside a strong increase in participation from Sarawak-based teams.

The event continues to play an important role in strengthening Malaysia’s AGG development pathway through structured competition, certified judging, and increased technical exposure.

The event welcomed strong participation from across Malaysia, reflecting the growing AGG community nationwide.

A Platform for Growth

Beyond competition, the event provided a platform for athletes, coaches, and officials to come together in developing the sport at both grassroots and national levels.

It also reinforced Sarawak’s growing role as a host for sporting events, contributing to both athlete development and sports tourism.
