MAGGA SAGGA SARAWAK COMPULSORY COMPETITION 2026

The next chapter of grassroots Aesthetic Group Gymnastics

About the Competition

The MAGGA SAGGA Sarawak Compulsory Program Competition 2026 marks a new chapter in the development of Aesthetic Group Gymnastics (AGG) in Sarawak.

Formerly known as the MAGGA School Program Competition, this programme has evolved to create a more inclusive pathway for young gymnasts to experience, learn, and grow through the beautiful team sport of Aesthetic Group Gymnastics.

Organised by the Sarawak Aesthetic Group Gymnastics Association (SAGGA) under the guidance of the Malaysian Aesthetic Group Gymnastics Association (MAGGA), this competition provides a platform for beginner and developing gymnasts to showcase their teamwork, discipline, creativity, and passion for AGG.

This is more than just a competition — it is the foundation where young athletes begin their sporting journey, develop confidence, and take their first steps towards higher-level national and international AGG competitions.

We look forward to celebrating the dedication of our young gymnasts and cheering for our Anak-Anak Sarawak as they continue to grow in this beautiful sport.

From School Program to Compulsory Program

A New Era for Grassroots AGG Development

The MAGGA Compulsory Program 2026–2028 is the next evolution of what was previously known as the MAGGA School Program.

Originally introduced to encourage school participation in Aesthetic Group Gymnastics, the programme has expanded to welcome a wider range of participants, including:

✨ School Teams
✨ Club Teams
✨ Mixed / All-Boys Teams

This rebranding reflects the continued growth of AGG in Malaysia, providing more opportunities for young athletes from different backgrounds to participate, compete, and progress within the sport.

The Compulsory Program serves as an important foundation for gymnasts to develop essential AGG skills, including:

• Teamwork and synchronisation
• Body movement and technique
• Musical interpretation
• Performance confidence
• Discipline and sportsmanship

Through this pathway, gymnasts can continue their journey towards more advanced AGG programmes following national and international competition standards.
